How Calming Inlets work!

Water leaving a downspout filter enters the rainwater storage tank through a calmed inlet. The calming inlet causes rainwater to enter at the bottom of your tank versus the top. Without a calming inlet, your tank water may become anaerobic (lack of oxygen) which can cause a bad smell. Below is an illustration showing how the calmed inlet works with the Carat tank system.
